Rolling Stone
Rolling Stone is an American "indie-rock" magazine published bi-weekly and it has been in production since 1967. Not only does the magazine focus on music, it also often features references to popular culture and politics. Their target audience seems to be anyone with an interest in music, regardless of age, this is mostly due to the wide range of genres and day to day issues the magazine advertises on its covers ranging from politics to fashion.

This cover features artist Lorde and is set on a blank white background with the rolling stone signature red, white and black colour scheme, the photo of the is artist slightly right from the centre. The photo is in medium close up with a strong light source and obscures only the name of the magazine which is written at the top in a signature style of the brand; 3D red italic font with white and black accents. The rest of the little text to feature is placed down the left hand side in several different red and black fonts, some in italics, each piece of text is broken up by a small grey bar. At the bottom of the cover is the name of the artist "Lorde" in a large italic red font, and above that on the right hand side written within a black box outlined in white is a short detail about an article inside.
This cover features artist Katy Perry, and similarly to all other covers by Rolling Stone, the photograph is the only one to feature on the cover. The image is a centralised close up with a strong light source directly on her. Aside from the colours in the photo the colour scheme is the same black, red and white that is carried across all covers. The photo is at the background of the cover and it doesn't obscure any text. The name of the magazine is at the top in the centre, written in the 3D font used previously and along the right hand side written in white and black fonts for the contrasting colour of the photo and white background are the details of the contents of the magazine. The contrasting monochromic colours of the general layout clash with the bright colours of the photo making for a chaotic appearance
This double page spread is focused on artist Adele. The page is essentially split in half, the right hand side is dedicated to a close up image of the artist. She is faced towards the camera but is looking away to the right, giving an element of mystery to the image. In keeping with the colour scheme of the spread the image is in black and white. The left hand side is dedicated to the accompanying interview text, a title is written at the top in a bold black font. It is not aligned and thus makes it more interesting to look at. The text underneath begins with a large black drop cap I and continues in a small black font
